ADC Features Advanced Broadcast Fiber Solutions Enabling the Industry's Migration to Digital Media at 2010 NAB Show

April 14, 2010

MINNEAPOLIS, Apr 12, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT) (, today announced that it will showcase its innovative fiber solutions for the broadcast and entertainment industry at the National Association of Broadcasters conference and exhibition (2010 NAB) in Las Vegas, April 12-15. ADC''s full range of solutions for HDTV, mobile HDTV, HD fiber, IPTV and IP will be shown in booth #C6744.

At the show, ADC will feature its fiber product portfolio that is designed to ease network migration from copper to fiber within the broadcast industry. For years, television broadcasters have relied on copper coaxial cable to route video and audio control signals and RF throughout their facilities. Today, as the demand for high definition (HD) signals has increased, the need for ever more bandwidth has sharply accelerated and broadcasters are transitioning from copper to fiber optic cable feeds for next-generation television signal routing.

"As the broadcast and entertainment industry moves to HD digital media, ADC offers fiber connectivity solutions and global expertise that enable outstanding performance for real-world situations and applications in today''s rapidly changing environments," said Dean Rosenthal, market manager for Broadcast and Enterprise Solutions for ADC. "Our industry-leading audio, video and data patching products provide highly reliable solutions for the largest networks, sports venues and mobile production companies worldwide."

The termination, splice and storage panels feature sliding tray and removable covers for efficient deployment and troubleshooting.
• ADC''s Next-Generation Optical Distribution Frame (NGF) - This frame is a high density (up to 2304 terminations), robust solution that can serve as a studio''s fiber cross-connect. An industry-tested design, this product is designed with an emphasis on superior cable management and ease of use, and is essential for the move to 3G.
• ProPatch(R) Miniature (PPM) Series Super High-Density Coax (SHDC) HD Patching System - A Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award winner in 2008, this system is designed for High Definition (HD), SDI, AES audio, 5.1 and 7.1 audio applications, where coax medium is preferred but space is at a premium.
