In our October 15 webinar, we explored how Microsoft Fabric can serve as a unified lakehouse for retail and CPG organizations—bringing together POS, loyalty, catalog, CRM, and unstructured data into Delta Lake on OneLake. The session highlighted Fabric’s medallion architecture (bronze → silver → semantic layer), built-in security and governance, and a just-in-time approach to data freshness—ensuring organizations only run compute when and how their scenarios require it.
We also discussed open standards and data sharing for secure collaboration across tenants and platforms, as well as best practices for capacity planning, workload management, and incremental adoption by data domain.
The live demo connected these principles to business outcomes—showcasing data ingestion and change data capture through Fabric notebooks and Spark streaming APIs, large-scale demand forecasting using Prophet and MLflow, and recommendation models enhanced by LLMs. The session concluded with strategies for activation and adoption, emphasizing how Power BI semantic models and Copilot make insights accessible to store managers, category teams, and executives.
We wrapped up with a clear next step: moving from masterclass → proof of value → foundation build → full implementation, backed by ongoing governance and cost planning.
